Who are we?

This family of STRUDWICK's live in England and are related to a family who lived in Jersey, certainly from about 1870 until after 1945.

My great-grandfather Henry Samuel STRUDWICKE married Jane Amelia BEAUGEARD around 1880.  The BEAUGEARD family and Jane Amelia's mothers family, LE CRAS,  definitely came from Jersey, but Henry was born in Southampton, on 3rd Mar 1856. his father was Henry William STRUDWICKE,  a shipwright, and his mother was Selina QUEEN.

(Or was it Selina WARREN?  Henry, the son, and William his younger brother are in the 1871 Census with a Selina WARREN, b:St Helier, and they are living in St. Helier.

The two Henrys's have proved to be elusive, although there are some indications that they may be related to Jeffery Lambert STRUDWICKE (STUDWICK in the census) and Elizabeth Ann HAYES, who was born in Jamaica.  They may have been in St. Brelade, Jersey, at the time of the 1851 census.  They had several children in Croydon prior to turning up in St. Brelade. where more children seem to have been born.  They then disappear.  Perhaps they emigrated to Canada or Australia?  The search continues.

Henry Samuel may have been in a line of Henry's, his eldest son, and in turn his grandson were named Henry,  some were often known as Harry.  There are several cases of official documents,  where Harry has been crossed out and replaced with Henry.

Some details of  BEAUGEARD and LE CRAS connections, have been added thanks to  "researchers across the pond", and "down under".
